Half shoes vs toe socks
Half shoes (also called toe shoes) cover the front of the foot while leaving the heel free, giving gymnasts the grip they need for turns, balances and pivots on carpet. Some gymnasts prefer knitted toe socks for a lighter, more flexible feel. The best choice depends on personal preference, foot shape and what your coach recommends. Sizing and fit
Half shoes should fit snugly without restricting movement. Most brands follow standard European sizing, but fit can vary — Venturelli's Soft Shape model runs slightly differently to Sasaki or Dvillena options. We recommend checking the size guide on each product page. If you are between sizes, going slightly smaller usually gives a better performance fit.
